SSI Specialty Course - Perfect Buoyancy

 

Do you want to increase your buoyancy control, minimize your breathing gas consumption, or move effortlessly above the ocean floor? The SSI Perfect Buoyancy program teaches you the skills and techniques needed to maximize your dive experience, increase your comfort in the water, and get the most from your equipment. You will earn the SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty certification.

 

* Digital Underwater Photography is a great add on!

* Boat Diving is also a great add on!

 

Course Content Includes:

  • Understanding the equipment used for buoyancy control

  • Learning the types of dry suits and their impact on buoyancy

  • The basic knowledge of buoyancy

  • Controlling your buoyancy in the water

  • Perfect buoyancy control as an active contribution to the underwater world

Prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 10 years old

  • Be an Open Water Diver or equivalent

What Do I Need to Bring:

  • Current, completed medical form. If you have any "YES" answers, you MUST have a physician sign off that you are cleared to dive.

  • Your Total Dive System

  • Rental equipment and air fills are not included with this specialty training course.

 

Where:

  • The classroom sessions and training dives will be held at Mermet Springs. Winter months scheduled dives will be held at local indoor swimming pool.

  • Total Duration of class is 7 hours.

Training Materials:

Upon making a deposit for this program, you will have access to your digital training program
on your MYSSI App or when you log in at www.divessi.com. You must complete all quizzes
with a score of 100% before you arrive for class. There will be a multiple-choice exam at the
end of the classroom portion. You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Training Dives:

  • You will complete 2 open water training dives for certification.

​

Class Fees:

Total cost for the class is $150.00

  • $100 includes your instruction, instructor fees, & entry into our facility.

  • $50 pays for your digital home study program, certification fees, your digital certification card, certification card, and diploma

  • A deposit of $50 plus purchase your digital kit will hold your place in the class.

  • Note: There will be a $50 rescheduling fee for anyone canceling a class with less than a 7 day notice.

  • All specialty classes should be scheduled at least 7 days in advance.​
