SSI Specialty Course - Enriched Air Nitrox

The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program will teach you how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Diving with enriched air can increase your no-decompression limits, increase your safety, and reduce the required length of your surface intervals when compared to air. You will earn the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification after completing this program.

Course content includes:

  • Introduction to Nitrox

  • Nitrox, Your Body and the Underwater World

  • Understanding how your Total Diving System works with Nitrox

  • Planning Your Nitrox Dives

Prerequisite:

  • Must be at least 10 years old

  • Be an Open Water Diver or equivalent 

​

What Do I Need to Bring:

  • Current, completed medical form. If you have any "YES" answers, you MUST have a physician sign off that you are cleared to dive.

  • Your Total Dive System

  • Rental equipment is not included with this specialty training course.

 

Where:

  • The classroom sessions and training dives will be held at Mermet Springs.

  • Total Duration of class is 7 hours.

Training Materials:

Upon making a deposit for this program, you will have access to your digital training program on
your MYSSI App or when you log in at www.divessi.com. You must complete all quizzes with a
score of 100% before you arrive for class. There will be a multiple-choice exam at the end of the
classroom portion. You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Training Dives:

  • Are not required for certification.  However, 2 Nitrox fills are included in the course.

 

Class Fees:

Total cost for the class is $175.00

  • $125 includes your instruction, instructor fees, nitrox fills for the dives and entry into our facility. Note: Nitrox Tables are available on your SSI App for FREE.

  • $50 pays for your digital home study program, certification fees, your digital certification card, certification card, and diploma

  • A deposit of $50 plus purchasing your digital kit will hold your place in the class.

  • Note: There will be a $50 rescheduling fee for anyone canceling a class with less than a 7 day notice. 

  • All specialty classes should be scheduled at least 7 days in advance.
