Mermet Springs (SSI) - Open Water Diver Course

This globally-recognized certification program is the best way to begin your life-long adventure as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the        SSI Open Water Diver certification.

 

Course Content Includes:

• Your Body and the Environment

• Using your Life Support Equipment Underwater

• Breathing Gas and the Effects on Your Body

• The Value of a Dive Buddy and Executing your Dives

• The Ocean and your Diving Opportunities

• Your Scuba Diving Experiences and Beyound

• Dive Planning with Tables

• Swim Test - You will be required to complete a 200 yard swim, not timed, and a 10 minute tread water.

Prerequisites:

• Must be at least 10 years old

What Do I Need to Bring:

• You will need a swimsuit, a towel and your own scuba quality snorkeling gear at all pool and
  open water-training sessions.

• We will provide all Scuba gear for your training.

• Included in the course you will also receive your own snorkeling gear and bag. During your orientation, you can choose your snorkeling equipment from our onsite dive shop prior to your class.

• You will be professionally fitted for your equipment. The gear that we carry is of the highest quality and is included as part of the class.

Where:

• The Classroom session and open water training dives will be held at Mermet Springs.

• Pool sessions may be held at an area pool to be announced prior.

 

Training Materials:

Upon making a deposit for this program, you will receive an email with a link to your digital training program. You must complete all quizzes with a score of 100% before you arrive for class.  There will be a multiple-choice exam at the end of the classroom portion.  You must pass the final exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Training Dives:

• You will complete 5 training dives over 2 days for certification

​

Class Fees:

Total cost for the class is $839.00 + tax and includes:

• All digital materials

• Classroom

• Pool training

• Open Water checkout dives

• Personal Gear package including mask, snorkel, boots, fins and mesh bag - Yours to keep

• Use of Total Dive System

• Certification Fees

• A deposit of $199 will hold your place in class.  Deposits are non-refundable.

• Note: there will be a $50 rescheduling fee for anyone canceling class with less than a 7 day notice.

• All classes should be scheduled at least 7 days in advance.
