NEW YEAR'S EVE 2006
Several divers took the opportunity to ring in the New Year with a midnight dive on New Year's Eve. The divers started their dives before Midnight and were greeted with "Auld Lang Syne" at midnight trough the underwater speaker system. |

During the annual DEMA scuba conference in
Florida, John Chatterton and Richie Kohler, the
Deep Sea Detectives, featured in the History Channel's
television program, got the chance to meet
Mermet Springs DiveControl Specialist Dave Trinka. |

The new flush toilets are up and running. No more 100 degree smelly porta johns. Our new restroom facilities each have a flush toilet, a mirror and a sink to wash your hands. |

bring us a Surprise award for Excellence directly from SSI! |

Mark and Eric recently completed their open water
certification and took the opportunity to get in a few
dives at Mermet Springs. The temperatures are warming
up and the surface temperature is nearly 70 degrees as
of June 1. Time to start diving for the summer. |
| Adrienne took advantage of the warm temperatures Memorial Day Weekend to experience an adventure dive at Mermet Springs. The Spoonbill are beginning to feed again, and, this first-time Mermet Springs Diver was lucky enough to view three Spoonbill on her first dive. |

Throughout the winter a group of six dedicated folks studied, dived, trained, took tests and trained some more as SSI Dive Control Specialists. Mermet Springs introduces the newest

| Mermet Springs 727 Spoonbills dive club recently met and are planning some fun activities for the upcoming months. President Kal Kotter told the group about an upcoming underwater dance contest to be held at a local pool. Next time you are at the divesite, ask about this fun club and the underwater dance contest. As we are gearing up for spring we have been busy inspecting scuba cylinders. Most of Mermet Spring's staff can now visually inspect cylinders during the weekends. Glen R. Faith is also a certified PSI cylinder inspector trainer and offers classes on visual inspecting and for Fill Station Operators. Ask Glen next time you are down about scheduling a class for your dive shop. |
