After you have completed the SSI E-Learning Training, it is time to continue your scuba education. To become a certified diver, you need to complete your training by signing up for an SSI Open Water class at Mermet Springs.
Mermet Springs will provide you with additional training materials including a zippered log book, training DVD, book and dive tables when you enroll in class. These items are all included in the price of the Open Water class. We have a variety of class times and course options available for you to choose from. You can decide what best fits your schedule and budget.
SSI E-Learning Class Breakdown
The E-Learning training costs the same as standard Open Water Training Class when you schedule your classroom, pool, and open water dives with a regularly scheduled Open Water Class. Completing the online academics is only the first step in your scuba training. In order to continue your training at Mermet Springs, you must have all the completed SSI answer sheets from the E-Learning Portion, along with a completed medical.

An Open Water Diver course consists of 3 distinct parts:
- Academics - You can complete the academics online at no charge when you sign up for SSI’s E-Training program. Once completed, you need to attend a review session at Mermet Springs, either with a regularly scheduled class or in a private session. The choice is yours.
- Pool Training - You will learn all the skills you use in open water in the safety of a pool. Pool sessions can also be set according to your schedule.
- Open Water Dives - You will complete 4-5 open water dives over 2 days while enjoying the experience of diving and exploring an open water environment. Again, these sessions can be done according to your schedule.
After successfully completing the Academics, Pool Training, and Open Water Dives you will be certified as an SSI Open Water Diver - It's your license to dive the world! The Standard Open Water Scuba Class includes:
- All training material books
- Zippered dive log
- Dive tables
- Instructor fees
- Use of scuba equipment
- Air fills
- Pool fees
- Entry fees to the dive site
- Certification fees
- Diploma
- Patch
- Lifetime certification card
Doesn’t work for you?
Check out our Private Class Options! A private Open Water Class gives you private sessions providing more attention and one-on-one training. This allows you to learn at a faster, or slower, pace than a group session offers. Private classes include everything the standard class does. However, you now complete your scuba training on your time, around your schedule, and within your limits.
