We just visited your dive facilities this weekend on our advanced open water check out dive with Fun Time Scuba.  We have been to two other quaries south of Indianapolis for our first few dives.
Your facilities beat them HANDS DOWN.  Things were very clean, everyone was soooo nice and accomidating... the food was good and properly priced,  the heat in the changing room was really great, and the diving was wonderful.  The docks, marked platforms and items marked on floats above each was very convenient.
You can tell you put alot into your facility - above and beyond what is required... The pumpkin carving was a neat idea... And the spooky underwater music... a nice touch.
Anyway, we are new to this... but we will definitely make the 4 hour trip back and we will spread the word...  Thanks for providing such a top facility in Illinois...

Glen,
Thanks for taking the time to help us get our new equipment properly fitted and letting us try it out in the very safe environment of the Executive Inn swimming pool.  This is the reason that we feel that we made the correct choice when we decided to purchase our equipment locally.  We enjoyed the session and are looking forward to much diving in the future.  Thanks also for letting our daughter, Erin, participate in a “Try Scuba” session.  She enjoyed it very much and is sure that she wants to participate in one of your open water certification classes this summer.

Glen,
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you going ahead with the dry suit class even though I was the only person who showed up for it.  Steve was a wonderful instructor!  He was very attentive, listened to my concerns and made me feel very comfortable.  I couldn't have asked for anything more.  And even though the weather was not the greatest the diving is always great at Mermet because of the people.
Thanks again!

Glen, I wanted you to know how much Sandy Guire and I enjoyed our couple deep dives the weekend of April 2 & 3. We found the water very clear below 60 feet. The weather was great with the sun warming everything up top side. When I started SCUBA diving, I did not think this was a year around activity. Yes, the better dives can be in the winter and early spring! Thank you for supporting SCUBA diving year around! Keep up the great work!

Hi Glen.
I hope you are having a good day.
Thanks for another fine diving experience!
I would like to commend Steve Buntin on the class we did he is an excellent trainer. Also wanted to thank everyone at Mermet for
the great hospitality and friendliness that they always show me when I come down. Makes for a great trip.
Please let me know how much books and shipping would cost for the Nitrox class. I can send a check or call you with my credit
card info.
Also if you ever have technical questions as regards computer and networking please feel free to throw them at me as that is what
I do
for a living. And if I can help do underwater clean-up or other maintenance sometimes when I come down I look on that as
valuable diving
skills experience and would be happy to help.
Thanks for the loan of your hood!
See you all soon!

Subject: What a weekend!
Glen & PJ
Bad weather forecast and look how good it turned out. I guess we just need to leave the Mermet Springs Winter jackets in the truck as a permanent resident.
Valerie & I had a great time this weekend. Completely exhausted when we arrived home, but worth every ache of it.
Just had to look at my logbook again to try and realize how far we have come in less than a month of only diving part of the weekends, and ....... the rest of the class finished up too. Must be the incredibly good local water...........you know.....the fridge at the office.
Can't tell you enough how much we appreciate the good instruction, safety conscience staff and wonderful facilities.
Keith was a great classroom instructor, Pat did a good job in our open water work, and Jon Ski has been a real patient and skillful advance instructor (a BIG thanks to him), not to mention Danny Ogle.......didn't get to dive with him officially, but he did a great job in our NAV class and I am convinced would have really been good in the water to. Would not hesitate to recommend Mermet Springs or continue training and pleasure diving with you and your staff. Hope to be blowing bubbles at "The Springs" when the little guy takes his first slug of air under the surface from a reg!
Oh yah........Glen.........you've been all right too..........I guess. Enjoyed playing in your gadget room. Hard on the wallet though. I believe Valerie and I have gear we could take anywhere in the world and be proud of and depend on.
Don't know right now when we will be back, but we don't want the inside of our boots to dry out completely, you know? Valerie pulled into the RV lot at Youngbloods in Mayfield on the way home.............Not a good sign. The Cadi engine comes first.................I keep saying to myself.
Many thanks again
Galen & Valerie

Dear Mr. Faith,
I just wanted to thank you for your patience with my sons, Warren and Garret Newberry, last night at Try Scuba. All the way home that is all the boys talked about. Warren kept his reading light on in the van and started studying his book, while we were driving home. Garret took his manual on his field trip to read. They are both very excited about the lessons.
Thank you again for your special attention to the boys.

Subject: Mermet Springs
Hi, all: Wanted to put in a good word about Mermet Springs. I went down there this past Sunday and it was awesome. For the past two and a half years I've been diving in the Caribbean, so it has been a while since I've been back to my roots (Midwest diving). I had some concerns about Mermet on the way down, the water temp, viz, and going without a buddy, to name a few. The experience turned out to be outstanding. Glen Faith hooked me up with another diver, who turned out to be a great buddy; I was never even close to being cold in my wet suit during my two dives; and the visibility was 50 feet. (It was the clearest I've ever seen it.) We saw bunches of spoonbill, including one who was filter-feeding; an amazing sight. For a confirmed Caribbean diver, I have become a born-again Midwest diver. As Glen said, fall and winter affords some of the best diving there. I am looking forward to my next trip to Mermet.

Subject: Thanks for the visit
I wanted to drop a note and say thanks for the kindness and consideration that was extended to me on my vacation.
Aside from all the many wonders there are to visit under the water, the experience with the people is what can take that entire experience away. The staff was by far, above notch and top key. Not only with friendliness, but I felt comfortable in their knowledge and what they were doing.
Special thanks to Tom Runkle for joining me as a dive buddy and giving me a first hand, personal tour of the treasures under-neath. Kind and funny, patient and understanding, willing to cruise along at my pace and always checking on me. That's a good leader. I appreciate his sacrifice of personal life and time to allow me to enjoy a day of diving.
My final thanks to Glen for being so busy and still taking the time to respond to my emails. That kind of dedication is reflected in the people and the site I got the grand opportunity to dive in.
Thanks and keep up the fine work.

Hi there...
I was at your facility this last week end finishing up my "basic open water". I am a continuing student with Dan Walter from Macomb (WIU). While in the water I broke a mask strap, my daughter-in-law dashed up to get a repair/replacement for it, she came back with a new strap........
My son coaxed me into start diving this spring, he has been diving for years, he has always bragged your facility up, and now I can see why. I have visited many facilities from skydiving, rock climbing, to white water rafting, I own and run an outdoor adventure company (Wolf Feats) along with my two sons. Your facility is what trip leaders and participants strive to find, excellent accommodations, but most importantly...customer service. I think that is what impressed me the most. As a new diver, of course, I had numerous silly and goofy questions, they were all dealt with in a professional friendly manner, they were dealt with as if it was important to whom ever I was asking. At one point when my buddy and I surfaced he flipped his masked on top of his head to talk, within seconds there was someone in a blue staff shirt yelling from the dock to check and make sure everything was ok. It's details like this that I look for when selecting outfitters or facilities. The pavilions are fabulous, such common sense, yet so basic. I see how it takes the stress out of "racking up" and a short walk to the water. Docks, well. perfect. I had such a blast there, even though I sucked big water down.

Hi Glen,

I just finished browsing your list of "What's new for 2003". You are amazing ! Even if you did nothing but maintain the place you'd have one of the top attractions for divers in the country but you manage to make a great place better year after year. I am looking forward to another season of great diving and seeing all the "new" stuff. I remember your first year when it was good but 'basic' and every year since it has just gotten better and better and better, etc.

Hi Glen,
Thanks for another FANTASTIC weekend of diving. You received many rave reviews from our Open Water Students. They had never been to your facility before but plan to join us on dive weekends all summer. You and your staff should be proud of all the hard work you did over the winter, everything looks great. Thanks also for going above and beyond the call of duty, you saved me from diving wet this weekend! After my drysuit seal tore, I knew I could count on you to save the day...and you did! ......Thanks again, we're looking forward to a great year of diving at Mermet Springs. ......

Hello,
This past weekend I made the 8-hour trip from Ohio, with three of my friends, to dive Mermet Springs. Two of them had already dove there and wanted to come back. I had a wonderful time, and I loved diving inside the 727. Mermet is a great facility, with many thoughtful amenities for divers.
What really impressed me was the wonderful attitude of your staff. They were outgoing and friendly, they answered all my questions, and even brought me some fish food so I could feed the albino catfish. Everyone was friendly and cordial and really seemed to like their job. I was so impressed with them. I'm looking forward to visiting again. Best regards and safe diving to all.

Glen,
A quick note to Thank you for a wonderful weekend. W/ the exception of Timmy the farm boy and Chuck, the whole staff was new to me. Zak, Eileen, PJ, et. al., were all awesome folks. It was nice to see you outside of the quarry too. As per normal: a grade A-1 operation. Will be passing two of the three movies you gave me out to shops up here in NW Indiana. Am keeping the other for me! W/out hesitation I will recommend that the folks I know and care about up here in our dive community are aware of you. Your definately worth the 5 plus hour drive.

Subject: Thanks for the great dive site!

To Glen Faith and Staff at Mermet Springs:
This past weekend I obtained my NITROX certification at Mermet Springs through Do Dive In, Inc. - Peoria, IL. My instructor, Jay Lyons, had told me to expect the best in site setup, maintenance and support at Mermet.
Diving your site on May 27th and 28th 2000 was a very pleasurable experience despite poor weather conditions. What impressed me the most, aside from the congeniality and helpfulness of the staff, was the organization and cleanliness of both shore and underwater facilities and features.
Having dove Mermet Springs I would, and will, recommend it as a "must dive" for those interested in midwest diving.
Sincerely yours,
